An Original Vintage Folded French Poster (measures 30" x 42" [76 x 107 cm]) (Learn More) La Vengeance du Sergent de Ville (literally translates to "The Town Sergeant's Revenge"), the 1913 Louis Feuillade French silent crime police melodrama short starring Louis Leubas (in the title role), Suzanne Grandais, Yvette Andreyor, Andre Luguet, and Renee Carl. It appears this movie was never released in the U.S. If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Note that director Louis Feuillade was a major French director of the 1910s, directing over 700 movies including "Les Vampires" in 1915. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare pre-World War II French poster, which we have never auctioned before! Virtually no French posters survive from before, during, or right after World War II. Apparently there were many paper shortages in France during World War II, resulting in the destruction of almost all pre-World War II posters!
