An Original 1964 Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Le Mepris (released in English-speaking countries as "Contempt"), the 1963 (released in the U.S. in 1964) Jean-Luc Godard French/Italian movie-making romantic love triangle melodrama ("Bardot is the body beautiful... she knows it... and she shows it!"; "Based on the novel by Alberto Moravia"; a very complex story about a screenwriter who is assigned by his producer to make a screenplay of "The Odyssey" more commercial, and he has a beautiful young wife who believes he wants her to sleep with the producer to help his career) starring Brigitte Bardot, Jack Palance, Michel Piccoli, Fritz Lang, and Giorgia Moll. Note that the director of the movie-within-the-movie is identified as Fritz Lang, and the legendary director plays himself! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds, creases, scuffs, and a few tiny tears on parts of the top horizontal fold and the top half of the vertical foldline, with minor wear on the other folds. There was some grease pencil writing on the back of the top half of the vertical foldline and it slightly bled through to the front. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well! Learn More about condition grades
