An Original Vintage Comic Book (measures 7 1/4" x 10 1/4" [18 x 26 cm]) (Learn More) Venus is the name of two characters appearing in Marvel comics. The first is a character created in 1948 by Stan Lee and Ken Bald. She was originally based on the goddess Venus (Aphrodite) from Greek and Roman mythology (she was later changed to be a siren who only looked like the goddess). The first Venus appeared in a 1948 series of the same name, which started out as a light-hearted romantic series before adopting a darker fantasy/horror theme. The second Marvel incarnation is the true goddess who wishes to only be known by her Greek name Aphrodite. This character was created by Jeff Parker and Carlo Pagulayan in 2009. Artist: Bill Everett Important Added Info: Contents: "The Kiss of Death!" Venus takes a back seat in this macabre, WWI-era tale of love between ghosts and skeletons. "Demons from the Deep!" Venus shows a murderer his own corpse, giving him the realization that he is now a ghost. Also includes: "The Box of Doom!"; "The Madman's Music"; and "Death to the Hairy Monsters!" Please note that we don't use a "comic guide" grading system, and OUR grading scale is completely different from standard comic book grading.
