An Original Vintage Kerchief (measures 16" x 16" [41 x 41 cm]) (Learn More) Tom Mix was a huge cowboy western star from the 1910s through the early 1930s. Along with his horse named Tony, he did his own stunts and was the king of cowboys during the 1920s. Some of his movies include: Dick Turpin, Riders of the Purple Sage, the Great K & A Train Robbery, The Man from Texas, and Destry Rides Again (in the title role as Tom Destry). Mix passed away in 1940 at the age of 60. He was driving his car and came upon a washed-out bridge. Unable to stop in time, his car swerved twice, then overturned in a gully (which is now known as "Tom Mix Wash"). A large suitcase situated on the package shelf behind his head, hurtled forward and struck him, breaking his neck. His funeral took place at the Little Church of the Flowers in Glendale, California, and was attended by thousands of fans and Hollywood personalities. He was interred in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Important Added Info: Note that this is a cool full size neckerchief with an image of Tom Mix on Tony and cool border images, including a "TM" logo. We imagine it was purchased by kids who wore it when they pretended to be Tom Mix! We have only previously auctioned two other examples, and only one in the last 19 years! Condition: very good to fine. Learn More about condition grades
