Date Sold 2/19/2009 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 2 Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" (8x10s) Movie Stills (Learn More) Akasen Chitai (released in the U.S. in 1959 as "Street of Shame"), the classic 1956 Kenji Mizoguchi Japanese brothel prostitution melodrama (about five very different prostitutes who work in a legal brothel that may be about to be closed by the government, and each of the women considers the ways they can continue on without being prostitutes) starring Machiko Kyo (billed on U.S. posters as "Machiko Kyo star of 'Teahouse of the August Moon' and 'Gate of Hell'"), Aiko Mimasu, Ayako Wakao, Michiyo Kogure, and Kumeko Urabe. Note that this movie was made by Kenji Mizoguchi, who had earlier made the highly regarded "Ugetsu" and "Sansho the Baliff", and this movie also received very positive reviews and won some awards.
