An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

Torchy Runs For Mayor, the 1939 Ray McCarey political detective crime mystery ("Based on characters created by Frederick Nebel"; eighth of the nine "Torchy" movies!) starring Glenda Farrell (in the title role as Torchy Blane), Barton MacLane, Tom Kennedy, John Miljan, Frank Shannon, and Joe Cunningham. Note that the first Torchy Blane movie was made in 1937, called "Smart Blonde", and it starred Glenda Farrell in the lead role. There were a total of nine Torchy Blane movies. Farrell played the lead in seven of them. In two of the ones near the end of the series, Jane Wyman and Lola Lane filled in for Farrell, perhaps because she had other commitments. The series only lasted for two years, but was quite popular.

Important Added Info: Note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has.

Condition: very good. The card has darkened, typical of Warner Bros. linen lobby cards of this period, but it has darkened much less than usually seen, and it is not at all fragile. There are a few pairs of staple holes and tiny tears around the edges. Otherwise, the card is in nice condition. Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back!
