7a0011 UNIVERSAL 1926 campaign book 1926 Hoot Gibson, 33 Jewels on their 2nd White List, ultra rare!

An Original Vintage Campaign Book (measures 9 1/2" x 12 1/2" [24 x 32 cm]; 41 pages) (Learn More)

Universal 1926, the 1926 campaign book ("Carl Laemmle presents this with his compliments and trusts that you will use it in booking the 33 Jewels on Universal's 2nd White List") created by Universal to promote their upcoming films from their Universal Jewel subsidiary. This was not a traditional campaign book, but rather a series of full-color trade ads that were bound at the top (like a calendar), and the introduction by Carl Laemmle urged exhibitors to tear our pages with movies that they wanted to book! Some of the movies and stars advertised include Hoot Gibson (in Calgary Stampede and Spook Ranch), Norman Kerry and Patsy Ruth Miller (in Lorraine of the Lions). This book is surely incredibly rare, likely even more rare than standard studio yearbooks!

Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned one example of this campaign book (it sold for $313), and that example has now been reconsigned to us, so this is still the only example we have ever auctioned!

Condition: very good. The back cover is missing, but it was likely simply a blank brown paper (we have never seen another example to know for sure). The rest of the book is in generally quite nice condition, which is why we still give it a "very good" rating
