An Original Vintage Folded One-Sheet Special Promotional Poster (1sh; measures 25" x 38") (Learn More)

a 1988 poster ("The Search For Cinderella"; "Trans World Entertainment is looking for a talented, young woman, to star in its upcoming motion picture 'Cinderella Rock.'", which was intended to be a rock 'n' roll updating of the Cinderella fairy tale) publicizing a talent contest audition for the star of the movie Cinderella Rock, written by Richard O'Brien and C.J. Fox. We guess this was sort of an early version of "American Idol", where they were first regional talent contests in shopping malls and the winners got round trip tickets to the finals where the winner was given the starring role in this upcoming movie, the second place was a modeling contract, and the third place was a round trip ticket to Europe. Since we can find no evidence of there ever being a movie called "Cinderella Rock", we wonder how far this talent search ever got, and whether anyone ever got any prizes at all. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

Important Added Info: Note that, in addition to updating the fairy tale to a rock & roll background, it appears from the one-sheet that this new Cinderella was intended to wear a glass sneaker!
