An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Style A One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Pecos Bill, the 1954 Clyde Geronimi Walt Disney animated animation cowboy western family comedy cartoon ("Rootin' Tootin' Fun!"; "Walt Disney's 25 Minute Musical Comedy Cartoon"; "Re-released by RKO Radio Picture, Inc. from 'Melody Time'") featuring the voices of Roy Rogers and Trigger ("Smartest Horse In The Movies"), Bob Nolan & The Sons of the Pioneers, Luana Patten, and Bobby Driscoll. Note that this 25-minute cartoon was originally one of the episodes contained in Walt Disney's 1948 feature movie, "Melody Time", which was a compilation of seven short cartoons. Each of those cartoons were later released individually to theaters, and we believe that "Pecos Bill" was first released individually to theaters in 1954, so even though the lobby cards from this title say "R54", they are technically 1954 first release, because the cartoon had not been released by itself before (if this information is incorrect, please e-mail us and we will post it here). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster is stamped "R54", but we believe it to be from the first release of this cartoon on its own, and that the "R" refers to the fact that the cartoon was first released in 1948 as part of the "Melody Time" feature. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had small paper loss at the crossfolds, and tiny paper loss in parts of the vertical foldline. There was a 13" tear in the lower right of the image (2" above the right half of the bottom foldline). There were two pieces of tape on the back of the poster below the word "PIONEERS" in the credits. There was triangular paper loss and a 2" tear beneath it in the left of the top border, and a tape stain below the "WA" of "WALT" at the center of the poster. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer linenbacked the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above (any restorer could likely touch them up without re-backing the poster).
