An Autographed 3" x 3" [8 x 8 cm] Album Page (Learn More) Sammy Davis Jr. was a top black African American singer and actor from the 1930s through 1990 (he started as a child star, "Little Sammy Davis", and as a small boy he played the title role in "Rufus Jones for President" in 1933). From 1936 to 1939, he was a member of the "Will Mastin Trio", which consisted of Sammy Davis Jr., his father, Sammy Davis Sr., and Will Mastin, a beloved family friend (and all three men we buried next to each other!). Mr. Davis was called "The World's Greatest Entertainer", and his stage show included wonderful impersonations of top celebrities. In the 1960s, he was a member of "The Rat Pack", together with Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Peter Lawford. Some of his movies include: Ocean's Eleven, Porgy and Bess, Robin and the 7 Hoods, and Convicts 4. He passed away in 1990 at the age of 64. Important Added Info: This album page has been personally autographed (signed) by Sammy Davis Jr.! It was signed in the 1930s, when Sammy Davis was performing with his father and Will Mastin as the "Will Mastin Trio", and the album page has signatures of all three of them! It is surely one of the earliest signatures from Mr. Davis when he was a very young performer. It could be matted with a vintage or repro still and framed together to make a cool display! Our consignor is a longtime collector who purchased this signed item from a reputable dealer. He does not have a certificate of authenticity, but we believe the signature to likely be authentic. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased (although we prefer they do any "authenticating" while the auction is "live" and before they place a bid) and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a "lifetime guarantee" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes. Condition: very good.
