An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Taxi, the 1953 Gregory Ratoff New York City cab driver public transportation romantic comedy ("The day St. Anthony took a New York cabbie for a ride!"; "From 'Sans Laisser d'Adresse' by Alex Joffe and Jean Paul Le Chanois"; about a New York cab driver who helps a young Irish immigrant with a baby locate her missing husband) starring Dan Dailey, Constance Smith, Neva Patterson, Blanche Yurka, Kyle MacDonnell, Anthony Ross, Mark Roberts, DeForest Kelley, and John Cassavetes (in a bit part). Note that John Garfield had been blacklisted, and was intending to make his comeback in this movie, but he died of a heart attack before filming began. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. The poster had a 2" diagonal tear to the right of the top crossfold and a long diagonal crease and tear above the right half of the top foldline. There was a diagonal fold just above the bottom foldline and some extra creases and small tears on parts of some foldlines. There were tears and areas of paper loss around the edges of the poster. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
