An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Flying Lariats, the 1931 Alan James & David Kirkland cowboy western ("An all-talking action western!") starring Hal Taliaferro (billed as "Wally Wales"), Buzz Barton, Bonnie Gray, Sam J. Garrett, (Gray & Garret are billed as "Rodeo Stars"), and Don Wilson. Note that Buzz Barton was born William Lamoreaux, but at the age of 12, he played a small role in a B-western, billed as "Billy Lamar". Over the next two years, he appeared in a total of nine B-westerns, being billed under various names. Apparently, he was quite a horseman, and in 1927, he starred in "The Boy Rider" as a youthful western hero, and he was billed as "Buzz Barton". This proved to be a very popular movie, and over the next two years, he appeared in around a dozen similar movies, as the "World's Greatest Juvenile Western Star", always playing David "Red" Hepner (because of Barton's red hair). Over the next few years, he continued making B-westerns, playing various characters, but becoming an adult hurt his career, and he was reduced to playing uncredited parts in scores of B-westerns in the late 1930s. He left the movies in 1942, when he enlisted in the Navy (even though he only grew to 5'2" as an adult) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare poster. We have never auctioned one in all our years of auctioning (and we have only auctioned two lobby cards ever for this movie)! Condition: fair to good. The poster appears to have been crushed at one time and it has many creases scattered throughout. It has associated defects including some creases, defects, areas of paper loss and tears of varying lengths along parts of some edges and separation in portions of the folds. But the poster is mostly 'all there', and after a linenbacking by a talented professional, the poster will look fantastic, and it will likely require very little paint restoration within the image.
