An Original Vintage Promotional Brochure (measures 5 3/4" x 14" [15 x 36 cm]; 6 pages) (Learn More) Columbia Pictures is the studio founded in 1918 by Harry Cohn, his brother Jack, and Joe Brandt. It was originally called CBC Film Sales Corporation, and in its early days, it produced low budget movies. But in 1924, Harry Cohn bought out Joe Brandt, and renamed the company Columbia Pictures Corporation, and he took Columbia from a Poverty Row studio to one of the better studios, partially thanks to having the services of ace director Frank Capra! Important Added Info: Note that this brochure is promoting upcoming Crime Doctor movies (starring Warner Baxter), Blondie movies (starring Penny Singleton), The Whistler movies (starring Richard Dix), Boston Blackie movies (starring Chester Morris) and a Lone Wolf film. Clearly this was removed from something, because it has punch holes down one side, but we don't know what, although it seems likely it might be a Columbia campaign book.
