(Learn More) Louisa May Alcott's Little Women, the classic 1933 George Cukor (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) coming-of-age melodrama ("Dear to the heart of every woman of every age... America's favorite love story..."; "In a glowing drama of yesterday... fresh with the sweetness of eternal spring"; "Forgotten corners of the human heart thrill to the radiance of Jo and Beth and Meg and Amy.... in Little Women"; "A new sensation of sheer loveliness glorifies the screen!"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award; from the equally classic novel of the same name by Louisa May Alcott) starring Katharine Hepburn ("In today's best-loved romance"; as Jo), Joan Bennett (as Amy), Paul Lukas (as Professor Bhaer), Frances Dee (as Meg), Jean Parker (as Beth), Edna May Oliver (as Aunt March), Douglass Montgomery, Henry Stephenson, Spring Byington (as Marmee), and John Lodge (billed as "John Davis Lodge"). There had been many adaptations of this classic novel, but almost everybody considers this to be the definitive version, and Katharine Hepburn to the be definitive Jo March! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this is a most unusual and elaborate pressbook, one that we have never auctioned before. It has many sections that are housed in a full-color tri-folded die-cut folder. The folder has an image of Hepburn full-length on the cover and most of the posters in full-color on the other two sections of the cover. Inside, there is a wonderful die-cut section that has all the main stars with their names and character names, with naturally Hepburn much bigger than the others. There are three elaborate ad supplements inside and two heralds tipped-in! See our many images for just how great this pressbook is. There is a real oddity, which is that the three parts of the cover have "flaps" at the top designed to fold over to the inside. But by being folded over, they cut into the top of Hepburn's head on the cover and the top of the 24-sheet on the back cover! Apparently, they didn't put a little extra thought into this and make the image of Hepburn on the cover smaller so that her whole image would fit in! But you can unfold those flaps, and while there are tears on them, you still have the entire color images of all three covers. Also note that this pressbook is complete and uncut! Given that theater owners purchased pressbooks partly in order to create their newspaper advertising, and quite frequently cut them up for that purpose, it is rare to find a pressbook that IS complete and uncut! Note: We have 19 images of the pressbooks in this set, but due to a space limitation, only TEN of the 19 images are displayed above. However, there is a "supersize" link to the right of those images that lets you see the other 9. Condition: good to very good, NO CUTS. The pressbook is complete and uncut. There is wear around the edges of the tri-fold folder covers (see above). The interior sections are in really nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
