An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (measures 11" x 14") (Learn More)

Red Dust, the classic 1932 Victor Fleming pre-Code romantic love triangle melodrama (set on a rubber plantation in Indochina, with Gable forced to choose between "good" Mary Astor, and "bad" Jean Harlow, who was basically a prostitute) starring Clark Gable, Jean Harlow, Gene Raymond, Mary Astor, Donald Crisp, and Tully Marshall. This was a pre-Code movie, and the steamy scenes between the stars helped bring about the Code (and the censorship it brought).

Condition: very good to fine. there is a tack hole in Gable's forehead, and a Y-shaped indentation next to the tack hole; there is a 1/2" indented line above Gable's brow; there is a pinhole in each corner; there is a tiny stain in the left of the bottom border; there is tiny paper loss at the extreme upper edge of the left of the top border. Other than the above defects, the card is in exceptional condition! I really don't think the defects in Gable's forehead are very distracting, because I think few people looking at this card would be looking at Gable! Of course, a talented restorer could certainly repair that area so as to make it invisible, but I would think many collectors might choose to leave this rare and wonderful card unrestored!
