An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Half-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 22" x 28") (Learn More) Sangre Negra (released in the U.S. as "Native Son"), the 1951 Pierre Chenal U.S./Argentinean black African American racial crime accidental murder melodrama ("The dynamite-loaded story of a negro and a white girl!"; "Now On the Screen At Last... Richard Wright's savage, terrifying best-seller Explodes onto the screen"; "I didn't mean to Kill her!"; based on the classic novel by Richard Wright; about a black man killing a liberal white girl out of fear) starring Jean Wallace, Richard Wright (as Bigger Thomas), Nicholas Joy, Gloria Madison, Willa Pearl Curtis, and Ruth Robert. Note that Orson Welles staged a very controversial version of this story on Broadway. It caused such a furor that Wright couldn't get any backing in the U.S. for a movie version of it, so he went to Argentina to shoot it with Buenos Aires doubling for New York and played the title role himself. It got very limited American release so any movie paper from it is very rare, and the U.S. and Argentinean posters have similar images! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: very good to fine. The poster had three extra vertical foldlines, but they are all very faint and not very noticeable at all from the front. There are minor creases and smudges around the edges of the poster.
