'Tom and Jerry,' famed cartoon characters, in gay underwater swimming antics with Esther!"; combining live action and animation) starring Esther Williams, Fernando Lamas, Jack Carson, Charlotte Greenwood, Denise Darcel, William Demarest, Donna Corcoran, and featuring the animated cartoon characters Tom & Jerry. Note that when this movie was made, co-stars Williams and Lamas were married to other people, but many years later, in 1969, they married each other! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and some extra folds, with some tiny bits of paper loss on parts of the folds. It had pinholes and tape stains around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. Note that either the restorer who mounted the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges of the poster, or possibly the owner of the poster chose to carefully trim off the excess, so that the poster would fit in a frame. After the poster was backed, it was roughly handled, and it received creases in the bottom 8" of the left border, both in the blank border and in the linen behind it.
