z041 BLACK SHIELD OF FALWORTH movie title card '54 Tony Curtis, Janet Leigh, knighthood's epic age!

An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (TC; measures 11" x 14") (Learn More)

The Black Shield of Falworth, the 1954 Rudolph Mate Universal medieval adventure thriller ("All the vast pageantry and towering excitement the thundering thrills of knighthood's epic age!"; "The epic story of Myles Falworth... who pledged his life to save a throne... and his love to win a fabulous beauty!"; "All the pageantry and excitement of Knighthood's epic age!"; based on the book 'Men of Iron' by Howard Pyle) starring Tony Curtis (as a knight with a Brooklyn accent!), Janet Leigh, David Farrar, Barbara Rush, Herbert Marshall, Torin Thatcher, Daniel O'Herlihy, and Rhys Williams. Note that there is a long-standing rumor that Curtis badly mangles the line "Yonder lies the castle of my father" as "Yonda lies the castle of my faddah." However, a collector tells us that line is not even in the film, but there is a similar line in Son of Ali Baba which was pronounced correctly. Also note that stars Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh had been married since 1951, three years before this movie was released.

Condition: very good to fine. Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back of the card!
