Should I run or make her Mrs.? Trouble is. She reminisces. Note that the credit "Screenplay based on a story by Monckton Hoffe" sounds reminiscent of a W.C. Fields credit for himself under a wacky pseudonym, but actually, Monckton Hoffe is a real man, who was an Irish playwright, who worked in Hollywood mostly in the late 1920s through the early 1940s, but "The Lady Eve" is far and away his most famous credit! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that the last time we auctioned a first release one-sheet from this classic 1941 movie, it auctioned for $7,100. This 1949 re-release was issued just eight years later, and yet it will sell for a fraction of that price, making it a very attractive alternative to someone who doesn't want to spend the money required to purchase the first release poster!
