An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked English One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 39 1/2") (Learn More)

The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby (also released simply as "Nicholas Nickleby"), the 1947 (released in the U.S. in 1948) Alberto Cavalcanti English family relationship romantic melodrama ("Based on the novel by Charles Dickens"; about a young man whose father dies, leaving his family destitute, and his miserable uncle treats him terribly) starring Cedric Hardwicke ("and a Ten-Star Cast"), Mary Merrall, Sally Ann Howes, Sybil Thorndike, Derek Bond (in the title role as Nicholas Nickleby), and Stanley Holloway. Note that this was always one of the lesser known Charles Dickens novels, until 1980, when a massive 8 1/2 hour stage play version was performed in London and on Broadway (in two parts on two consecutive nights).

Important Added Info: Note that this is a rare "country of origin" poster for this English movie!

Condition: very good. The poster had creases, smudges, and some fine surface paper loss on some foldlines. There were creases and a few smudges in the borders. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well. Note that, at some point after being backed, the right corner of the poster was creased and it goes into the corner of the poster, but it is solely the blank white corner that is affected.
