An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Heavy Stock One-Sheet Movie Poster (27" x 41") (Learn More) Poltergeist, the classic 1982 Tobe Hooper supernatural horror thriller ("'They're here.'"; "It knows what scares you."; "Steven Spielberg has been called the American screen's master story-teller. From the thrashing terror of 'Jaws' to the awesome spectacle of 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind' to globe-trotting adventure of 'Raiders of the Lost Ark,' he has delighted, mystified and scared more audiences... More imaginatively... Than any filmmaker of our time."; "As producer and co-author of 'Poltergeist,' Spielberg is joined by co-producer Frank Marshall, with whom he made 'Raiders of the Lost Ark,' co-authors Michael Grais and Mark Victor, director Tobe Hooper, and the special effects wizardry of Oscar winning Richard Edlum ['Star Wars'] and Industrial Light and Magic."; "In 'Poltergeist' they cross a frighting new threshold, encountering forces which baffle science, defy reason... And turn the once peaceful lives of a normal American family into an existence that must be experienced to be believed."; "The first real ghost story.") starring Jobeth Williams, Craig T. Nelson, Beatrice Straight, Dominique Dunne (in her first and only movie role; she was brutally strangled to death by her ex-boyfriend after the release of this film), Heather O'Rourke, Zelda Rubinstein, and Oliver Robins NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster is identical to the regular style B one-sheet, EXCEPT that it is not marked "style B" at the bottom and that it is on a heavier than normal stock (not as thick a stock as used for 30" x 40"s, but clearly thicker than that of regular one-sheets). We obtained this poster from a person who obtained it when the movie first came out, but we don't know why it was made on a different paper stock. Also note that this poster was never machine folded. Most movie posters from before 1980 were machine folded immediately after printing. After 1980, it quickly became standard for posters to never be folded, and were shipped to theaters rolled in tubes. But this made it far more likely for posters to pick up minor (or major) defects, and it can be difficult to find an unfolded poster from the 1980s in excellent condition. Condition: very good.
