An Original Vintage Theatrical Autographed 8" x 10 1/4" [20 x 26 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Eddie Cantor (born Isidore Itzkowitz) was a comic actor and singer from the 1920s to the 1950s. He performed a little later than Al Jolson, but there were similarities between the two men, and Cantor had very large expressive eyes and was nicknamed "Old Banjo Eyes". He had a very successful radio show in the 1930s. Some of his movies include: Thank Your Lucky Stars, Hollywood Canteen, and Whoopee! There was a movie biography of his life called "The Eddie Cantor Story". He passed away in 1964 at the age of 72. Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by Eddie Cantor! Our consignor purchased this signed item (and a number of others) many years ago from Larry Edmunds Bookshop in Hollywood. They had just been consigned a large collection from a longtime collector, and our consignor purchased this item along with several others, which he has held all these years and has now consigned to us. He does not have a certificate of authenticity, but we believe the signature to likely be authentic. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a "lifetime guarantee" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes.
