An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked French Movie Poster (measures 23" x 31 1/4"; known as an 'affiche' poster in France) (Learn More) The Fast Lady, the 1962 Ken Annakin English romantic slapstick comedy ("She's the fastest thing in town, and boy what a chassis!"; about a civil servant who wants to romance the beautiful daughter of a rich man, and he gets an antique Bentley, and takes driving lessons so he can impress her) starring James Robertson Justice, Leslie Phillips, Stanley Baxter, Kathleen Harrison, Julie Christie, Graham Hill, and John Surtees NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were extremely well restored, OR it had some very minor defects that were not completely restored, and are slightly noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "Pre-Restoration Defects & Quality of Restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster had minor wear along the foldlines. There was writing on the back of the top center of the poster which slightly bleeds through in the center of Julie Christie's name. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was well backed, but the restorer did not touch up the bleed through in the white background at the top center of the poster (any talented restorer could easily do this without re-backing the poster).
