On Moonlight Bay, the 1951 Roy Del Ruth romantic musical comedy ("Joy! And Love! And the Joy of lovin! And singing and dancin' and such romancin'! Its Sunlight and Moonlight rolled into One!"; "Another Warner Bros hit!"; "The Lovin'est Musical in Many a Moon!"; "Everything's gay 'On Moonlight Bay'"; "A happy screenful of sun-kissed melody and kiss-by-moonlight romance from Warner Bros.";"With those moonlight bay-bes and bay-eutiful songs! 'Love Ya' and 'Moonlight Bay' and lots more!"; "Another Warner Bros. hit!") starring Doris Day, Gordon MacRae, Billy Gray, Jack C. Smith, Leon Ames, and Rosemary DeCamp. Note that at this time Warner Brothers was looking for movies to make with Doris Day and so they chose to re-make one of their successful "Penrod" movies of the 1930s, but they switched the emphasis from the Penrod character to his tomboy older sister (played by Day)!
