A Linenbacked English Advertising Poster (measures 31" x 46 3/4" [79 x 119 cm]) (Learn More) John Gilkes & Sons, the circa 1920s English advertising poster ("The latest designs and choicest colouring are to be found at John Gilkes & Sons"; "Wallpapers and decorations") promoting the purchase of wallpaper and decorations from a company located in Brighton, England. Note that this poster features art of woman examining wallpaper. Artist: Conrad Heighton Leigh Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster was never folded. It had some very minor border wear. Overall, the poster was in very good to fine condition prior to linenbacking. After it was backed onto a thin linen with no excess, it was roughly handled, and there are now creases scattered at the bottom of the image, and at the bottom of the lower text area. There are also a few creases in the top right. The poster can still be displayed and enjoyed as it is, or certainly, restoration couple be performed, but bear the above in mind before bidding on this poster. Learn More about condition grades
