An Autographed 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Publicity Still (Learn More) John Hart was an actor from the 1930s to the 1980s. He is likely best remembered for his starring role as TV's The Lone Ranger from 1950 to 1953. Some of his movies include: Jack Armstrong, The Legend of the Lone Ranger, Adventures of Captain Africa (this was intended to be called "Return of the Phantom", about the legendary cartoon strip character, but the producer discovered at the last minute that they no longer had the rights, so rather than reacquire them, the character became "Captain Africa", and the title was changed!). When Mr. Hart appeared at collectibles shows signing autographs, he would sign printed pictures that read "John Hart as the Phantom" at the bottom, but of course, that was not technically correct! He passed away in 2009 at the age of 91. Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by John Hart (he added his character name "The Lone Ranger")! Our consignor obtained this autograph in person at a Hollywood Collectors Show in Los Angeles. Also note that many celebrities kept multiple 8" x 10" (or smaller) copies of good publicity images of themselves to sign for fans, and also many memorabilia shops sold such copy stills themselves. While they are not original theater-used stills, they are usually excellent clear copies, with a great shot of that celebrity in their heyday, which, when signed by the celebrity, makes for a wonderful framed picture on any fan's wall! As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction.
