An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Insert Movie Poster (measures 14" x 36" [36 x 91 cm]) (Learn More) Pickup, the 1951 Hugo Haas bad girl crime film noir (with an amazing number of hard-boiled taglines on the various posters [likely explained by the two different campaigns; see below]; "They gave her a bad name and she lived up to it!"; "Murder was her mistake... Marrying her was his!"; "Would you 'Pick-Up' this girl? - You won't if you know what's good for you"; "Don't be scared- ...I'm just a girl..."; "You can 'Pick Up' this girl... but you won't if you know what's good for you!"; "Marrying her was his mistake... Murder was hers!"; "Easy to 'Pick-Up' but you won't if you know what's good for you!"; "The low-down on a come-on girl!"; "Get in kid, there's always room for one more..."; about a beautiful young woman who traps an older man who wants her; she marries him and then plans to murder him!) starring Beverly Michaels, Hugo Haas, Allan Nixon, Howland Chamberlin, and Jo Carroll Dennison. Note that this is an unusual movie (aside from being one of the most classic bad girl movies ever!). It had two entirely different campaigns. The images were the same, but the coloring and taglines were different. There are two different one-sheets and two different title cards, and likely two different versions of the other size posters. It seems likely that they started with one campaign and then immediately either changed the campaign to the new taglines, or continued with both campaigns (we know this because one of the one-sheets has a lower litho number than the other, but not by much, so they both came out in 1951). We would think the vast majority of collectors would view both campaigns as first release, and many collectors would likely want to get an example from each campaign! If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster has never been folded! Some pre-1970 insert posters were folded twice horizontally at the poster exchange, while some were not. It can be difficult to find an unfolded example of many pre-1970 insert posters (note that most post-1970 inserts were NOT folded, so they are pretty much only found unfolded, and therefore this does not apply to those inserts). Condition: very good. The poster was never machine folded. It has a slightly diagonal horizontal crease 3 inches from the top of the poster, and a faint partial horizontal crease near the center of the poster, and a faint horizontal crease just above the credits, and there is minor wear on the folds (see our image). It has some smudges and a few tears around the edges, with tiny paper loss in the lower left blank border. It has just a few creases and scuffs scattered throughout, with some smudges in the bottom of the yellow background area. Learn More about condition grades
