An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) The Menace, the 1932 Roy William Neill crime plastic surgery murder mystery thriller ("'The Menace' will get you! Will hold you! Will scare you! Will delight you!"; "Swift smart strong story"; "What part did this delightful monster play?"; "Romantic mystery drama!"; "From the story 'The Feathered Serpent' by Edgar Wallace"; about a man falsely accused by his stepmother of killing his father, when she actually did it, but after she gets him falsely convicted, he escapes prison, gets into a disfiguring explosion that requires face-changing plastic surgery which fortunately gives him a new identify, so he then proceeds to woo his stepmother in order to trick her into exposing her lies!) starring H.B. Warner, Bette Davis, Walter Byron, Natalie Moorhead, and William B. Davidson. Note that this was early in Bette Davis' career, and Warner Bros. did not yet realize what a major star she would become, and so they "loaned" her to Columbia to make this movie! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned four lobby cards from this movie, and we have NEVER before auctioned THIS scene card, which has a wonderful image of Bette Davis! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: good. The card has darkened somewhat, typical of Columbia lobby cards of this period, but it is not very fragile at all. The card was folded vertically 3" from the left and there are some tiny bits of surface paper loss on that fold. There is a pinhole in each blank corner and creases in three blank corners. There are the remnants of paper tape on the back of the center of three borders, but it does not affect the front. Other than the above, the card is in pretty nice condition, and of course, the above defects could be restored, or one could display this very rare card exactly as it is.
