Alex in Wonderland, the 1971 Paul Mazursky fantasy melodrama ("'At least I know who I was when I got up this morning, but I think I must have changed several times since then.' - Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, Lewis Carroll"; "Introducing the most spectacular new character in motion pictures. A human being."; while there are some parallels to Alice in Wonderland, the movie owes far more to Fellini's 8 1/2; about a director whose first movie seems to be a sure fire hit, and he is contemplating what to do with his newfound fame and ability to make any movie he wants; in his travels, he encounters many real life celebrities in cameo roles, including Fellini) starring Donald Sutherland (in the title role "as Alex in Wonderland"), Jeanne Moreau, Ellen Burstyn, Michael Lerner, Federico Fellini, and Andre Philippe
