He performed a little later than Al Jolson, but there were similarities between the two men, and Cantor had very large expressive eyes and was nicknamed "Old Banjo Eyes". He had a very successful radio show in the 1930s. Some of his movies include: Thank Your Lucky Stars, Hollywood Canteen, and Whoopee! There was a movie biography of his life called "The Eddie Cantor Story". He passed away in 1964 at the age of 72. Important Added Info: Note that this contract has been personally autographed (signed) by Eddie Cantor! The contract is between Eddie Cantor's agent, the William Morris Agency, and the Elmira Lodge of B'Nai Brith, where Cantor agreed to appear in return for $3,000, and $1,500 as a down payment, and Mr. Cantor reserved the rights to sell souvenir programs at the show and keep all the money. The contract page has "see rider attached" in the payment section, and then the rider has all the payment information. Our consignor is a longtime collector who purchased this signed item from a reputable dealer, and he does not have a certificate of authenticity, but we believe the signature to be authentic.
