An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Double Dynamite, the 1951 Irving Cummings romantic crime comedy ("Double Fun! Double Joy! Double Everything!"; "Story by Leo Rosten") starring Jane Russell, Groucho Marx, Frank Sinatra, Robert Benchley, and Don McGuire. Note that this movie was filmed in 1948, but its release was held up for over three years (likely something to do with producer Howard Hughes). If anyone knows why the movie was delayed so long, or more about it, please e-mail us and we will post it here. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: good. This poster was linenbacked, but it was either NOT linenbacked by a very talented restorer, OR it was linenbacked many years ago, and has received rough handling over the years, OR it had fairly major defects that were not restorated at all. If it was restored, you can clearly see signs of the restoration even from a distance. This is a poster that would greatly benefit from additional professional restoration. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster had multiple pinholes in the corners and creases, tears, and small areas of paper loss around the edges of the poster. There were creases and a few tiny tears along the foldlines. The person who linenbacked the poster pretty much just linenbacked it as is, and it would benefit from additional restoration, or from being re-linenbacked. Note that the restorer who mounted the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges of the poster. Learn More about condition grades
