An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded French "Affiche" Movie Poster (23x32; measures 23 1/2" x 31 1/4") (Learn More) Le Masque de Fer (released in the U.S. as "The Iron Mask"), the 1962 Henri Decoin Italian/French adventure thriller (loosely based on the classic Alexandre Dumas novel, about the twin brother of the King of France who was imprisoned with an iron mask so that no one could see his face) starring Jean Marais (as Charles d'Artagnan), Sylva Koscina, Enrico Maria Salerno, Giselle Pascal, Claudine Auger, Raymond Gerome, Jean Lara, Jean Davy, Philippe Lemaire, Noel Roquevert, Jean Rochefort, and Enrico Maria Salerno. Note that everyone wanted this movie to be great, because it paired one of the most famous novels with one of France's greatest actors, Jean Marais, but the movie did not get very good reviews (and still, it was one of the highest grossing movies in France that year). Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good to very good. There is a censor stamp in the background at upper right and there are tape stains and yellowed pieces of tape in the top corners of the poster and there are some tape repairs on the back along the foldlines and edges.
