An Original Vintage Theatrical Tri-Folded Domestic Twenty-Four-Sheet Movie Poster (24sh; measures approximately 9' x 20') (Learn More) Stanley Kubrick's Clockwork Orange, the classic 1972 Stanley Kubrick (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) English science fiction (sci-fi) psychodrama ("Being the adventures of a young man whose principal interests are rape, ultra-violence and Beethoven."; "Being the adventures of a young man... who loved a bit of the old ultra-violence... went to jail, was brainwashed... and came out cured... or was he?"; "Based on the novel by Anthony Burgess"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award; about the leader of a teenage band of futuristic hooligans that are into "Ultra-Violence" which means they do things like raping women and torturing old drunks, but he is sent to prison and receives a brainwashing treatment that results in an inability to perform violent acts, but at what cost?) starring Malcolm McDowell, Patrick Magee, Adrienne Corri, Miriam Karlin, Warren Clarke, James Marcus (Clarke and Marcus play the droogs, Dim and Georgie), and David Prowse NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Philip Castle Important Added Info: Note that we have once before auctioned an example of this poster, and that poster auctioned for $2,201! Note that these posters (often referred to as "billboard posters") were always pasted to walls or billboards when they were used, so the only ones that survive are the few that didn't get used at the time. But VERY, VERY few 24-sheets survive from any movie from before 1990, because no one thought to save them, and the unused ones were almost always trashed. To give you a sense of how very rare they are, we have held over 1.2 million auctions, and of those, around 75 of them were for 24-sheets, and only a dozen of them were from before 1960! Note that this twenty-four sheet was printed in 16 sections designed to overlap. This 24-sheet poster was folded in a way that makes it resemble a tri-folded six-sheet (only much larger, of course, as there are many more sections). But the length and width of the folded 24-sheet is just about the same as that of a folded six-sheet or three-sheet. This means that this 24-sheet needs to be sent in an oversized flat package, which will measure roughly 16" x 36", and approximately 2" high, and it will cost more to send than a regular sized package. Note that this poster was stamped "DOM" which means it was printed for use within the United States (there would also have been posters stamped "FOR" for use outside the United States). Finally, note that this movie was originally released in the United States with an "X" rating. It was soon re-released with an "R" rating, and the posters with the "X" rating have always been more difficult to find than those with an "R" rating! Condition: very good to fine. The poster has a few creases and very tiny tears in small parts of the borders, but otherwise is in really nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
