Date Sold 4/18/2021 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. a lot of 3 Captain Marvel family premiums (ranging in size from 7" x 10" to 9" x 12"). We have pictured them in their printed envelopes and taken out of the printed envelopes. Captain Marvel (Shazam!) is a fictional comic book superhero that was created by Bill Parker and C.C. Beck in 1939 for Fawcett Comics. The character was first named Captain Marvel but Fawcett ceased publishing Captain Marvel-related comics in 1953, partly because of a copyright infringement suit from DC Comics (alleging that Captain Marvel was a copy of Superman). In 1972, DC Comics licensed the Marvel characters from Fawcett, and returned them to publication. Due to trademark conflicts over another character named Captain Marvel owned by Marvel Comics, DC has recently re-branded and marketed the character using the trademark Shazam! since his 1972 reintroduction. The character is the basis of the 2019 live-action film with with Zachary Levi in the title role. Note that the items in this lot are from the 1940s. We do not provide a list of these items, but there are multiple images of all of them. Measurements: from 7" x 10" to 9" x 12"Condition: very good to fine.
