An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10 1/4" [20 x 26 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Dracula, the 1931 George Melford Universal vampire monster horror thriller starring Lupita Tovar, Barry Norton, Carlos Villarias (in the title role as Conde Dracula), Pablo Alvarez Rubio (as Renfield), Barry Norton, Eduardo Arozamena (as Van Helsing), and Jose Soriano Viosca. Note that this Spanish-language version was filmed on the same sets and at the same time as the English-language Bela Lugosi version of Dracula. The English-language version was filmed during the day, and the Spanish-language version was filmed at night. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that first release movie paper from this Spanish language version of Dracula made in 1931 is beyond rare! We have only previously auctioned a single still (in only "good" condition, which sold for $600) and several heralds from this 1931 Spanish movie until we were consigned this wonderful still. This wonderful still was consigned to us by a person who at the same time acquired a signed photo of Pablo Alvarez Rubio, and because that photo was signed, we auctioned it in our "all signed auction" rather than in this major auction. That signed photo closed on 2/4/2020, and it sold for $877! Condition: very good. There is a tear in the top blank border and some creases and a small tear in the bottom blank border. There is a tiny mark in the center of the top blank border and a tiny stain in the left of the bottom border. There is the tiniest of paper loss in the bottom right blank corner and tiny creases in the other blank corners. There is a tiny stain in the lower right of the cape, which is barely visible. I detail all of this because of how valuable this incredibly rare still is, but it certainly will look wonderful on the wall of its new owner, exactly as it is! Learn More about condition grades
