Eisenhower and Richard Nixon! Date Sold 5/10/2018Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Unfolded Political Campaign Poster (measures 17" x 21" [43 x 53 cm]) (Learn More) Prosperity with Peace, the 1952 political campaign poster encouraging citizens to vote for the Dwight D. Eisenhower - Richard Nixon ticket in the 1952 presidential election, and featuring images of both candidates (and of course, Nixon is extremely young!). Of course, Dwight D. Eisenhower (nicknamed "Ike") was a U.S. Army officer and politician from the 1910s to the 1960s. He was a five-star general during World War II, served as Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces in Europe and became the first Supreme Commander of NATO. He was elected to the presidency of the United States from 1953 to 1961. As President, he ended the Korean War and presided over eight years of relative peace and economic growth, during which no inflation occurred and the debt kept to a minimum. Richard Nixon was the 37th President of the United States from 1969 to 1974. His second term was marred by the Watergate scandal, and he was forced to resign, the only President who has ever done so. He was the subject of the movie Nixon and more recently Frost/Nixon. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that while this poster could conceivably be rolled, we will only ship it in a large flat package, because we feel certain that rolling it would damage it. Note that this item needs to be shipped in an oversized flat package. Some of these items can ONLY be sent in flat packages, and could not possibly be rolled into a tube. On some of them (for example if it is a size that might ordinarily be rolled in a tube, like a half-sheet), the reason it is in this auction is specifically because we feel it either CAN'T be rolled or because we feel it would be a mistake to roll it, because it might well damage the item. In the case of the few items that could be rolled, we will roll the item in a tube if the new owner insists, but only if they accept that they can't return the item if it is damaged from being rolled. So please bear in mind that this item must be sent in a LARGE flat package (the size of the package will depend on the size of the item), and bear this added expense in mind before placing a bid on it. Condition: good. The poster has creases, defects, areas of paper loss and tears of varying lengths along parts of some edges (partially repaired with tape from the back). Please see our super-sized image to get a good sense of the condition of this item prior to placing a bid. Learn More about condition grades
