An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked French One-Panel Movie Poster (1p; measures 45 1/2" x 60 3/4"; known as a 'grande' poster in France) (Learn More) the theatrical release of I Clowns (released in the U.S. in 1971 as "The Clowns"), the 1970 Federico Fellini French/German/Italian made-for-TV pseudo-documentary (Fellini had a lifelong fascination with clowns, and in this movie he blends real footage of famous clowns with some staged sequences) starring Federico Fellini (as himself), Anita Ekberg (as herself), Pierre Etaix, Annie Fratellini, Charlie Rivel, and a slew of other people playing clowns NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Rene Ferracci Important Added Info: Note that this is a rare "country of origin" poster for this partially French movie! Condition: good to very good. The poster had minor fold and border wear. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed. At some point after it was backed, it was roughly handled, and there are now some creases down the left and right edges of the excess linen, but not in the actual poster. There are also faint horizontal creases where the original horizontal foldlines were, both in the poster and in the linen itself. I do not know if this can be repaired without re-backing the poster, but I would think many collectors could display this poster just as it is. Learn More about condition grades
