10 Danish Art Prints (with art by Otto Nielsen; unnumbered; measure 11 3/4" x 16 1/4" [30 x 41 cm]) (Learn More)

Otto Nielsen was a Danish author and artist from the 1930s to the 1990s. Nielsen worked as an illustrator for a variety of books and advertisement campaigns (including many SAS travel posters). Scandinavian Airlines System hired Nielsen in the 1950s and 1960s to make a series of wonderful travel posters, including as series featuring great artwork of different native African wildlife, but he also did many other posters for them. He passed away in 2000 at the age of 84.
Artist: Otto Nielsen
Important Added Info: Note that some time in the 1950s, SAS airlines commissioned Otto Neilsen to make at least two sets of art prints that (one measures 11 3/4" x 16" and the other measures 10 1/2" x 15"). One set, the one auctioned here, shows scenes of famous explorers, and had at least 12 prints in it, but the set we are auctioning has 10 out of those 12. We are currently also auctioning another set (in a separate auction) that measures 10 1/2" x 15", but only has 8 prints, and that one shows scenes of famous moments in the history of aviation, and those have printing on the back of each, while these do not. We previously auctioned two larger sets of these prints, and these are duplicates from those two sets, and this time we have 10, and before we had 11 and 12, and we don't know how many there were originally. But regardless, they are very cool, and likely very rare, and certainly very suitable for framing, and after we auction this set, we will have no more of these, and may never have them again unless some are reconsigned! If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

Condition: very good.
