An Unfolded Travel Poster (measures 29 3/4" x 39 3/4" [76 x 101 cm]) (Learn More)

American Airlines Today's Best Buy, the circa 1940s travel poster ("Deluxe flagship service"; "Low cost airtourist service") designed to promote air travel on American Airlines and featuring a graph showing the cost of various commodities in 1940 (including air travel and Airtourist service) with an airplane in the background. If anyone knows more about this poster, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.

Condition: fair. The poster has been torn in half diagonally at center and repaired with tape from the back (see our image). It has creases, smudges and scuff marks scattered throughout and there are some other defects that can be clearly seen in our super-sized image. The poster is in urgent need of restoration, and certainly a competent restorer could repair the defects described above, but please bear in mind the cost of restoration before placing a bid.
