HAP (Helmut Andreas Paul) Grieshaber was a German artist from the 1920s to 1981. His preferred medium was large format woodcuts. Grieshaber was honored with numerous prizes and retrospective exhibitions. He exhibited works at the documenta (an exhibition in Kessel) in 1959 and 1964, and in honor of his 70th birthday in 1979, large retrospectives were shown in various museums in both parts of Germany.
