An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures approximately 3" x 4") (Learn More) The King and the Chorus Girl, the 1937 Mervyn LeRoy Paris France romantic musical ("Reign, reign go away! His royal highness wants to play"; "Original Screen Play by Norman Krasna and Groucho Marx"; "Music and Lyrics by Werner Heymann and Ted Koehler"; about a deposed king of a small country who lives in Paris, with a couple of his court members, and they play a trick on him by having a chorus girl pretend to reject him, which makes him want her all the more) starring Fernand Gravey (billed as "Fernand Gravet"; in the title role as Alfred Bruger VII), Joan Blondell (in the title role as Dorothy Ellis), Alan Mowbray, Mary Nash, Kenny Baker, Luis Alberni, Jane Wyman, and Edward Everett Horton NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that the movie is called "Romance in Paris" on this glass slide, which was the working title for this movie! Glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline). Condition: very good. The slide does not have a cardboard holder, but rather there is black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of older glass slides. When we auction slides that have a cardboard holder, we provide a separate image of how the cardboard holder looks, but when we auction slides with the black tape (like this one) we only provide the scan of the glass slide image, because that really is about all there is to see.
