An undated (probably 1938) Re-Release one-sheet (Learn More)

Slave Ship, the 1937 Tay Garnett slave trading high seas sailor romantic adventure thriller ("Greatest of all dramas of the sea! Adventure storming with epic sweep over half the world! Two years to make! A fortune to film! A matchless cast of stars!"; "Based on a novel by George S. King"; produced by Darryl F. Zanuck; note that IMDB gives William Faulkner a story credit for this movie; about a sea captain who wants to stop trading in slaves, but his first mate has other ideas, and his life is complicated by his beautiful new bride being on board the ship) starring Warner Baxter, Wallace Beery, Elizabeth Allan, Mickey Rooney, George Sanders, Jane Darwell, Joseph Schildkraut, and Lon Chaney Jr. (in an uncredited role)

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this poster looks like the first release poster, but there is a major difference: the large Mickey Rooney credit at the top! Mickey Rooney became a major star soon after this film gaining him higher billing. We checked the litho number and based on these two facts, we believe this poster to surely be from an early reissue, likely 1938.

Condition: Good to Very Good.
