A Linenbacked REPRODUCTION Chinese Propaganda Poster (measures 20 1/2" x 30") (Learn More)

Mao Zedong (Mao Tse-tung) was a Chinese Communist revolutionary and politician from the 1940s to the 1970s. He was the head of the revolution that led to the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949, leading the country until until he passed away in 1976 at the age of 82. His book, "Quotations from Chairman Mao Tse-tung" (known in the West as "The Little Red Book") was first published in 1964, and some sources say it sold 6.5 billion copies (but no one can say for sure, although virtually every Chinese citizen had to have a copy during the 1960s!).
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this is one of three Chinese propaganda posters of Mao Zedong we are auctioning. We do not know what the writing on the poster says, so we distinguish each of them by a "style" tag (so we and the bidders can tell the three posters apart). If anyone contacts us and identifies any of the posters, we will change the titles at that time. SUPER IMPORTANT! It is highly likely that this is a fairly modern reproduction of an original 1960s or 1970s poster (it is very difficult to tell originals from reproductions, but the originals are super rare, so we feel pretty certain this is a reproduction). PLEASE DO NOT BID ON THIS POSTER THINKING IT IS AN ORIGINAL!

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster was never folded and had some darkening and some creases and scuffs scattered throughout. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well!
