An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Movie Window Card (WC; measures 14" x 22" [36 x 56 cm]) (Learn More)

Ziegfeld Follies, the 1945 Vincente Minnelli all-star musical comedy ("Greatest production since the birth of motion pictures!"; "MGM's Greatest show of stage and screen"; "James Melton & Marion Bell - Love songs, dance and spectacle in a midnight masquerade!"; "Fred Astaire & Lucille Bremer thrillingly dance into your heart in 'This Heart of Mine'!"; Fred Astaire & Lucille Bremer in 'Limehouse Blues'... A love-dream in moody Chinatown!"; "Fred Astaire & Gene Kelly in 'The Babbitt and The Bromide'... Terrific tapping twosome in a grand Gershwin number!"; Victor Moore & Edward Arnold - They don't pay the two dollars... But deliver two thousand laughs!"; showing Flo Ziegfeld looking down from heaven and organizing the ultimate musical!) starring Fred Astaire, Lucille Ball ("Whip-wielding Queen of the Gorgeous Panther Girls!"), Lucille Bremer, Fanny Brice ("wins the sweepstake in uproarious comedy sketch!"), Judy Garland ("sings to thrill you in a de luxe dancing sketch!"), Kathryn Grayson ("sings the Grand Finale, a high note of melody and Technicolor magic!"), Lena Horne ("makes 'Love' a sultry song sensation!"), Gene Kelly, James Melton, Victor Moore, Red Skelton ("shows what might happen... 'When Television Comes!'"), Esther Williams ("Beauty in an underwater wonder-world!"), Marion Bell, Cyd Charisse, Hume Cronyn, William Frawley, William Powell ("as the Great Ziegfeld plans his greatest show!"; as Flo Ziegfeld), Keenan Wynn ("makes a phone call. It's a long-distance laugh-riot!"), Virginia O'Brien, Eddie Cantor, Robert Lewis, and "Bunin's Puppets". Note that this movie is the one that has the only joint dancing appearance of Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire! Also note that this movie had a huge number of "Ziegfeld Girls" appearing throughout, and most of them were unknown beautiful young girls who were "gleaned from college campus, the stage, department stores, modeling salons, everywhere"!

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned one example of this window card, and that was 5 years ago!

Note that the poster has a tiny bottom border, but it has NOT been trimmed (all of the window cards on this title were printed like this). Since these window cards have a tiny bottom blank white border, some people mistakenly assume they have been trimmed, but they have NOT! They measure 14" x 22", and this is exactly how they were originally printed. This is something MGM was experimenting with at the time, but they abandoned it (perhaps because theater owners thought they were receiving trimmed window cards!).

Condition: good to very good.
