An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Chapter #2 ("Flying Pirates") One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) The Hurricane Express, the 1932 J.P. McGowan & Armand Schaefer railroad train crime adventure thriller serial ("A Thriller of the Roaring Rails in twelve crashing episodes"; "In 12 thrilling chapters") starring John Wayne, Shirley Gray, Conway Tearle, Tully Marshall, Matthew Betz (billed as "Mathew Betz"), Edmund Breese, James Burtis, Joseph Girard, Lloyd Whitlock, , J. Farrell MacDonald NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and the restorer did a good job, but you can see signs of the restoration from inches away (since most people look at posters framed on a wall from at least a few feet away, we don't feel this is a defect, but we feel it should be noted). See below for this poster's pre-restoration condition (we are the only major auction company we know of that shares this information with our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). good. The poster had an extra horizontal fold just below the regular top foldline, and there were creases, some small tears, and some paper loss in the area between them (including a small area of paper loss just above Wayne's face and some tears in Wayne's face). There were many creases, small tears, and some small paper loss down the vertical foldline. There was an extra fold below the regular bottom fold with some creases along those two folds. There were tears and areas of paper loss across the center of the top of the poster. The person who restored the poster did a pretty nice job restoring the above defects, but you can still somewhat see them (more so the restoration in the top of the vertical foldline and in the left of the top foldline in the light blue areas).
