An Original Vintage Linenbacked Circus Poster (measures 21" x 28 1/2" [53 x 72 cm]) (Learn More)

Hoxie Bros. Circus was founded in 1943 by Hoxie Trucker in Greenville, Florida. In the late 1960s and 1960s, the Hoxie Circus became known for it's trucks unusual color (in fact, all of the show equipment were painted with a lavender color). In the early 1970s, John Hall became manager of the show and a new era began for the circus. Hall brought new ideas to the show and breath new life into the Hoxie Bros. Circus. The new format was a huge success and now Hoxie Bros. competed with larger circuses. By the late 1970s Hoxie decided to open a smaller second unit that could play the smaller towns the main show had out grown. The name of the new show was Hoxie's Great American Circus and it operated until the 1980s.

What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster was never folded. It had paper loss in the top corners, extending into the very top of the "H". Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well!
