An Autographed 4 1/2" x 6" [11 x 15 cm] Album Page (Learn More) George Burns was a legendary comedy actor in radio and film from the 1930s to the 1990s. He is well known for his radio show with his wife Gracie Allen (The Burns & Allen Show) from 1934 to 1950, which moved to TV in 1950, and ran until 1958, and was one of the most creative and innovative TV shows ever! He appeared in in a number of movies with Gracie in the 1930s and 1940s. Gracie passed away in 1964, and he had a successful solo career in such movies as Oh God!, The Sunshine Boys (winner of the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film), and Going in Style AND Jane Powell is an actress/singer from the 1940s to the 1980s. Some of her movies, including many MGM musicals, include: Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Royal Wedding, Marie, A Date with Judy, and Two Weeks in Love. She broke into movies in an interesting way, as a teenager. She had been singing coloratura soprano on the radio when she was 14, and was given a chance to be in "Song of the Open Road" with W.C. Fields in 1944. I bet no one would have guessed she would go on to be a major musical star of the 1950s! Important Added Info: This album page has been personally autographed (signed) by BOTH George Burns AND Jane Powell (each star signed on a different side of the album page)! It could be matted with a vintage or repro still and framed together to make a cool display, but of course, one would have to choose which side to display! Note that this item was consigned to us by a man who has been a major movie memorabilia dealer from the 1970s on. He purchased the signed photos that were in the inventory of a long running Hollywood memorabilia store, and he has consigned a large number of them to us, and we are auctioning them here, including this item. The store would get items signed when celebrities visited them, and they also bought collections of signed items, but of course only when they were convinced that they were genuine! Both we and our consignor feel it is extremely likely that the autograph on this item is authentic, but he does not have a certificate of authenticity. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a "lifetime guarantee" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes. Condition: very good.
