An Original Vintage Russian Magazine (measures 9" x 12 1/4" [23 x 31 cm]) (Learn More)

Soviet Screen was an illustrated magazine published in the USSR from 1925 to 1998 (with a break from 1941-1957). The magazine covered domestic and foreign movie news, the history of cinema, reviews, and featured stories about actors and film-makers. Annually, there were also readers polls for Best Film of the Year, Best Actor of the Year, Best Actress of the Year, Best Children's Film of the Year and Best Musical of the Year.
Important Added Info: Note that the image on the cover of this very rare Russian film magazine is from Oktyabr (released in the U.S. as "Ten Days that Shook the World"), the classic 1928 Grigori Aleksandrov & Sergei M. Eisenstein Russian silent Petrograd Bolshevik revolution historical melodrama (about the 1915 October Russian Revolution; Eisenstein was chosen to make this official government version of the revolution after he had made the classic "Battleship Potemkin" three years earlier). Anything Russian from the first release of this movie is beyond rare, and beyond expensive. The winner of this auction could display this cover, and this magazine was published prior to the release of the movie in Russia, and it is surely incredibly rare!

Condition: very good. The magazine has some minor wear around the edges and slightly on the interior pages, but it has overall survived in pretty nice condition!
