Date Sold 10/22/2024 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 16 Original Vintage Theatrical German Movie Lobby Cards (LCs; measure 8 1/4" x 11 3/4" [21 x 30 cm]) (Learn More) Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan, the 1982 Nicholas Meyer science fiction (sci-fi) outer space adventure sequel ("At the end of the universe lies the beginning of vengeance."; "Based on Star Trek Created by Gene Roddenberry") starring William Shatner (as Captain James T. Kirk), Leonard Nimoy (as Spock), DeForest Kelley (as McCoy), James Doohan (as Scotty), Walter Koenig (as Chekov), George Takei (as Sulu), Nichelle Nichols (as Uhura), Bibi Besch, Paul Winfield ("as Terrell"), Kirstie Alley (billed as "introducing Kirstie Alley as Savvik"), and Ricardo Montalban (in the title role; billed as "starring Ricardo Montalban as Khan"). Note that the Star Trek TV show went off the air in 1969, with a cult following, but without a lot of general success. But there was enough interest built up over the following years that Star Trek: The Motion Picture was made in 1979. While the movie did well at the box office, it was not critically well received, and it looked like that might have been the end of the franchise, but then Nicholas Meyer wrote and directed this sequel, which was a giant critical and commercial success, and led to all the many sequels and spin-offs in the years since! Important Added Info: Note that the last set of German lobby 16 cards we auctioned for this film sold in 2009, and the only other one we have auctioned was a single card 14 years ago! Also note that these German lobby cards measure 8 1/4" x 11 3/4" [21 x 30 cm], but have not been trimmed. Condition: very good.
