Auction History Result #5645 HELL HARBOR 2 LCs '30 Lupe Velez Date Sold 4/8/2003Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 2 Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Cards (measure 11" x 14") (Learn More) Henry King's Hell Harbor, the 1930 Henry King Havana Cuba Caribbean tropical island romantic love triangle adventure thriller ("All Talking"; a wild pre-Code story of traders in the Caribbean, and one who forces his daughter to marry a Jewish moneylender to help him make money, and she wants to run off with a visiting American and live in Cuba!) starring Lupe Velez, Jean Hersholt, John Holland, Gibson Gowland, Harry Allen, and Rondo Hatton (17th billed, as "the bartender"). Note that this movie is memorable for reuniting Jean Hersholt and Gibson Gowland, who had been so memorable as adversaries in "Greed", and it also marks the movie debut of Rondo Hatton (he was a newspaper reporter in Florida, where the movie was filmed, and he was hired for his distinctive looks, and years later, he went to Hollywood and started his memorable career, which was cut short by his death from acromegaly).
